Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

When subscribing to our newsletter, we ask you to provide us with your email address. Other personally identifiable information is not requested, so we limit this to:

  • Email address

Here’s what that means in practice:

  • An email address is required to sign up to our newsletter. You need to provide us with your email address if you want to regularly receive the 8bitnews.io newsletter emails.
  • All data transfer between your browser and our servers is secured via TLS/SSL. We do not store your email address or any other of your personal data on our servers.
  • All newsletter emails are sent using a third-party email provider - Mailchimp. Transactional emails and newsletter emails are sent using Mailchimp.
  • Your email address is transferred to Mailchimp via a encrypted and hence secured API call against Mailchimps REST API.
  • Mailchimp securely stores your email address, so 8bitnews.io newsletter emails can be sent by Mailchimp automatically. Please see the Mailchimp Privacy Policy for full details.
  • We have not disabled open tracking and link tracking on newsletter emails sent. The collected open and link tracking data is anonymized and can not be linked to an individual email address. See the Mailchimp Privacy Policy for full details.
  • When you write to us with a question or to ask for help. We keep that correspondence, which includes the email address, so that we have a history of past correspondences to reference if you reach out in the future. We use this data solely in connection with answering the queries we receive.

Usage Data
